PEG (polyoxyl) hydrogenated castor oils are a group of excipients that function as solubilizers, emulsifiers, permeability enhancers, and bioavailability enhancers, and are widely used in pharmaceutical manufacturing. These excipients are applied in various liquid and semi-solid dosage forms such as injections, oral suspensions, herbal syrups, and topical creams/gels/ointments. Polyoxyl hydrogenated castor oil and its derivatives include:
